April 2007 Tactics Time

Randy Reynolds authored the April 2007 Tactics Time Column.  It is funny because every position is from a game of mine!  This is the first (and only) time every position was from the same person.

Randy’s comments in the answers are quite funny as well.  His comment “(Minus several million points if you chose the g-knight to take the pawn, though!)” cracked me up.

All of the games are from Billy Willson’s Regis Grand Prix tournaments, which were always a lot of fun.  Regis has produced a lot of great players over the years, and tend to be “ankle biters” as my friend Francisco says (meaning they are under rated).

Tactics include pins, forks, deflections, interference, and mating nets.

Thanks for the tribute Randy!

Enjoy!
